Have ever you feel sick and tired of what parents ask you to do and not do? In this story there is a woman who asks her daughter to do everything that she expected and would like to see. When I read the story I use dictionary to help me to understand the story. For example doukona is kind of pudding. After I know the meaning then it helps me easier to follow the story.
It is nice that parents concern about their child. They want them to be the best so they ask them to do what they think is good for them. I saw NEWS in Taiwan, there is a child who stole money from others. He got caught and the police concern about his family. They realize that their parents are too busy and could not really stay with him so he stayed with his grandma. His grandma gave him money when he wants and just let him do whatever he wants. He was spoiled that is why he could not help himself and have to steal money from other people.
Parents are always wanted to help their children. They can talk to you is better than they do not talk to you.

I think using the hook is a good idea because by thinking about the questions, I can use some of the knowledge that I already have. However I think that you can use another hook. If the hook is too direct, it may be boring. Thus I suggest that you can use another ones.
It is good idea to make a connection between the story and te news. But you can write someting about how you feel, what do you do if you are that mother's child?? How do you feel??
